Below is a list of the offered clubs for this portion of the school year. Please keep an eye on this page for updated details as they become available for future clubs.
General Information: Space is limited. Registration does not guarantee a spot but indicates your student's interest in a particular club. Participants are chosen by random lottery and students will be notified if accepted at the email used during registration.
SPRING 2025 Clubs
Lego Club (Grades K-2)
• Lead parent volunteers: Leslie Richards and Danielle Shannahan
• Purpose: To explore various themes and work with peers through weekly Lego build challenges
• Number of students: up to 16
• Grade levels accepted: K-2
• Cost per student: $10 (Lego supplies such as baseplates, bricks, wheels, etc.)
• Day of the week: Wednesdays 2:25 p.m. to 3:25 p.m.
• Meeting Dates: Wed Feb 26, Mar 5, 12, 19, 26 Apr 2, 9
• Location: EEE room
• PARENT VOLUNTEERS NEEDED each week, signup to follow
Art Club (Grades K-2)
• Lead Teacher: Ms. David
• Purpose: To learn about and create art projects using materials found in nature
• Number of students: up to 20
• Grade levels accepted: K-2
• Cost per student: $10 (art supplies such as clay, glaze, brushes, tools, etc.)
• Day of the week: Mondays 2:25 p.m. to 3:25 p.m.
• Meeting Dates: Mon Feb 24, Mar 3, 10, 17, 24, 31 Apr 7, 28
• Location: Art room

Kickball Club (Grade 2)
• Lead parent volunteers: Courtney Mathis and Beth Thierer
• Purpose: To develop team sport skills while having fun playing kickball outside with peers
• Number of students: up to 20
• Grade level accepted: 2
• Cost per student: $10 (kickball supplies such as balls, bases, ball pump, etc.)
• Day of the week: Wednesdays 2:25 p.m. to 3:25 p.m.
• Meeting Dates: Wed Apr 23, 30 May 7, 14, 28 Jun 4 (club will be canceled in the event of inclement weather)
• Location: SPES Baseball Diamond

Wednesday Cooking Club (Grades 2-4)
• Lead parent volunteers: Sarah Fretz and Colleen Cruikshank
• Purpose: To learn basic food preparation and safety skills while having fun cooking with peers
• Number of students: up to 16
• Grade levels accepted: 2-4
• Cost per student: $10 (food and kitchen supplies)
• Day of the week: Wednesdays 2:25 p.m. to 3:25 p.m.

Chess Club (Grades 2-5)
• Lead parent volunteer: Jess Morris
• Purpose: to learn the rules and strategy of chess and to play the game with peers
• Number of students: up to 20
• Grade levels accepted: 2-5
• Cost per student: $10 (game supplies such as boards, pieces, instruction cards, etc.)

Monday Cooking Club (Grades 3-5)

• Purpose: To learn basic food preparation and safety skills while having fun with peers

• Purpose: to learn new Minecraft skills and play the game with peers

• Cost per student: $10 (club supplies such as tech accessories, pencils, paper)

Arts & Crafts Club (Grades 4-5)

• Purpose: To create projects using a variety of materials while having fun with peers

• Grade levels accepted: 4-5
• Cost per student: $10 (craft supplies such as clay, paper, paint, etc.)
